AIB

AIB controversy

The heavily-panned AIB roast garnered more hate than praise and it was interesting to see that celebrities in the film fraternity had opposing views on the celebrity roast show featuring Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. While the All India Bakchod boys took the roast video of AIB Knockout off YouTube, the controversy surrounding it didn’t die down.
What I don't understand is can't we take anything with a pinch of salt? Almost all the celebrities who were being mocked had given their consent and our democracy says thats we have the freedom of speech as long as we don't hurt anyone. The AIB group, in their previous videos had also mentioned that they are a bunch who just like making jokes. When did the concept of taking wags seriously even come in?

Like filmmaker Mr. Balakrishnan called it the "simple" concept, wherein he explains why we need not make such a huge fuss about the roast. Similarly, actor Divyendu said it is all about the "generation gap" , soon Anushka Sharma spoke about how it was a fun show followed by AIB themselves tried to explain AIB point. With all the explaining, the sensor board should understand as well as all the people who found it offensive that it was just an experiment and in all of it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
